PNGO Project
This intervention began in 1997, when the Welfare Association won the World Bank’s competitive tender for the Palestinian NGO Project as the lead partner in a consortium, with the British Council and Charities Aid Foundation. The Project is now in Phase II (2001-2005), which is a comprehensive program of capacity building of NGOs to deliver sustainable services to poor and marginalized Palestinians, by improving the availability as well as the quality, impact and sustainability of service provision. The Project further supports the overall professional and strategic development of the Palestinian NGO sector by promoting mutually beneficial relationships between large/capable NGOs and smaller NGOs/CBOs.
