"Family to Family" Assistance

The Welfare Association (WA) began implementing a "Family to Family" emergency humanitarian program to assist Palestinian families who have lost their ability to earn an income due to the Israeli blockades on Palestinian population centers, in force since the beginning of the Intifada.

The program focuses on family to family solidarity, whereby a volunteer family or individual guarantees to support a needy family in Palestine by donating one hundred dollars per month for a minimum period of one year. The monthly donation is delivered directly to the beneficiary families through the WA.

In order to facilitate implementation of the program, the Welfare Association has relied on trusted national humanitarian committees throughout Palestine to prepare lists of especially needy families. The number of families received so far exceeds 2,000. Welfare Association is scrutinizing these lists through field visits to verify each family's need and avoid the duplications of assistance from other sources. Once the vetting process is completed, the selected families will receive the donation through the different branches of the Arab Bank and upon the verification of their identification.
